Sierra Blanca Lake

This is a beautiful lake where we stopped to take pictures on our way up to see Big Lake. There is a visitor center there that belongs to The Nature Conservancy, but we didn’t know that when we were there. Next time, we’ll drive down the gravel road to take a look. We thought it was a private home, so didn’t venture down there. It is very small in this picture, but you can see it right where the lake blends into the trees – a bit to the right of center.

There was a lodge there, too, up until June of 2011, when it burned during the Wallow Fire.

The color of the ground cover is spectacular. Very nice photo, Judie.
