Of yurts and blackberries

Camping out in a yurt has always fascinated me. Not enough to actually DO IT, mind you, but it is intriguing!

This lovely unit is at the Thousand Trails Preserve in Mount Vernon Washington, where we stayed several times in our motorhome during the fall of 2005. The preserve had many, many blackberry bushes, and ten minutes of gathering in the morning provided a plethora of berries for our cereal.

My younger brother and his wife have stayed in yurts in the Missouri/Arkansas Ozarks several times (once in the dead of winter) and loved it. Still, their pop-up trailer is preferred, but not in the dead of winter.
