Bird House #1

We have landed in Silver City, New Mexico, for the next week. There are charming little bird houses on many of the sites. This is the one on our current site. Please take note of the sweet little staircase on the left side that leads up to the second floor! ;->

The staircase must be for the baby birds that haven’t learned to fly yet.

That is so cute! Love the birdhouse in your site. I wonder if any real birds stop in – you should sprinkle some birdseed around the house. šŸ™‚

Stay tuned! There were seven of them that caught my attention. I’ll post the ones that came out good. Someone really went to a lot of work to make these precious things!

This made me think of my friend who carves dwarf homes. Just darling. I love whimsical ones.

    Hi Judilyn,
I followed your great comment about refrigeration at To Simplify and am enjoying reading your blog. These birdhouse shots caught my eye because my FIL just passed away and he was a huge fan of decorative birdhouses. There are hundreds of them, all in pristine condition. The (people) house must be sold and we have no idea what to do with the bird houses. Any thoughts? From where I sit, you look like a birdhouse expert. Thanks!

These bird houses were on the trees at a campground in New Mexico where we were staying. I don’t know anything at all about their provenance, just that they were very appealing, and that someone had used a great deal of skill to make them. I still have two or three that I didn’t post yet. Do you have a website with photos of your FIL’s work? Thank you for commenting!
