This was the second asparagus that I steamed in my new upright pan. The thicker stems are closer to the bottom, so I guess they get more heat than the tender shoots at the top because somehow the stalks seemed much tastier and more evenly cooked.
Asparagus is delightful. I hope it stays in season for a while. It is too expensive most of the year, so we gobble it up like crazy when available at a reasonable price.
We really like the taste and texture of the bulgur, mushrooms and onions. Such a nice treat!
