Almost everything to top a delicious pizza was already waiting in a refrigerator container, so I whipped up a quick dough in the bread machine. Half was made into this lovely pizza, and half became a loaf of cinnamon bread.
The pizza was made with a jarred sauce called arribbiata, which spreads nicely and makes a perfectly seasoned base for your favorite toppings. Highly recommended. Warning: It seemed to me to have a fair amount of garlic in it, even though the ingredients list does not call it out separately. DH did not find it to be as heavily garlicky as I did.
When it came out of the oven, I sprinkled a generous bit of freshly-shredded Asiago cheese over top of it.
Strange that it wouldn’t list garlic on the label. I looked it up on Wikipedia and I thought you’d find this interesting: ” “Arrabbiata” literally means “angry” in Italian, and the name of the sauce is due to the heat of the chili peppers.”

Well, that is certainly interesting! I didn’t find it “hot”. I’m not a big fan of hot peppers, but it was the garlic intensity that led me to eat a “diet-sized” piece and leave the rest for Gary to eat for lunch for several days. This was okay by him – he loved it!

I’ve tried to comment a couple of times before but this is the first time I was able to do it. Best wishes on Gary’s upcoming check up. Pizza looks really delicious! I LOVE intense garlic so if I were there, Gary wouldn’t have near so much lunch.

Glad you were able to comment, Sherry. Try again on a different entry to see what happens. Would gladly make you and David an entire Arribbiata Pizza for yourselves! I’m going to make a focaccia and seeded sandwich rolls today.

Pizza is one of my best “go to” meals. A quick plop of ingredients into the bread machine; roll it out; add goodies; bake. Yums all around!
