A Little Cereal with His Fruit
Last night’s dinner picture will appear tomorrow. DH was so enthralled with his cereal, that he wanted me to post it for all to see. Reason? He is a former fruit hater, but somehow I’ve created a monster, and now he can’t seem to get enough of it. Behold the raspberries, blueberries, peaches, plums, and nectarines!
What you can’t see are the dates and cranberries that are part of the five-grain cooked cereal, and the unsweetened coconut and yogurt that he mixes in, and the layer of granola under the fruit.
I create the cereal mix, the yogurt, and the granola in my kitchen. So far, the score is
DH: 5 Cancer: 0
with a big assist from Mother Nature!
I’ll give that one a 5 too!

Those three fruits just happen to be my favorites. In fact, I had blueberries on my cereal this morning.

I’m hoping we can follow the fruit belt when we finally get on the road. The Pacific Northwest has fruit far into the fall.

We love this time of year when it is so easy to top off the five-grain cereal with such an array of deliciousness. We do this all year, but sometimes are reduced to apples and grapes! Still good, though . . . ;->

Thanks, Liz. We are convinced that this super healthy diet is staving off the return of DH’s cancer. And the prior twenty years of healthy eating probably helped him along, too, with his body’s ability to keep the baddies at bay. It took him about a year to totally convert to “Judie-ism” back in the 80’s! ;->

I must change my eating habits. It’s true that we are what we eat. I have started adding more healthy options to my diet, recently. I’m glad super healthy diet is good!!! It takes a long time to change our habits or ways of life!
