Escher Aster

At the entrance to the office of our storage room complex is a small planter that has a plethora of various flowering plants in it. The first pictures I took were unsatisfactory because the wind was blowing them just too much to capture how lovely they were. Yesterday the wind was more still, but many of the petals had fallen off the flower.

It is still beautiful.

DH loves this picture, so I am interrupting the parade of food and roadrunners to bring this to your screen so you can enjoy it as much as we do. Actually, I was quite amazed at how well the camera on my ancient iPhone did in capturing this lovely bit of nature.

But. . . You weren’t supposed to pull petals off!

I think it is Zinnia not Escher Aster…
    It’s so beautiful……

Attracted to your blog through a comment on Traci Carver’s, I see you like to blend photos and text. I too like to combine visuals with text also on my blog, reflections of my life as a Mennonite girl in Lancaster County, PA and then some Grandmotherly tips for good measure. Your photos show a keen eye. I can tell you are always alert to the beauty around you.

Beautiful flower – it’s like a flower within a flower. I recently took a few photos with my Motorola Droid, and they came out beautifully. I was pretty surprised.

The flower within a flower is why I named it “Escher Aster”. I know it is really a zinnia, but that just didn’t have same panache! I’ve been more than pleased with the camera in my iPhone – and it is always right there at hand!
