No need to adjust your monitor – yes, there is a blue rim around the edge of the pancakes.
Usually I use fresh blueberries for the blueberry pancakes, but they were so big, that I used frozen ones instead so they wouldn’t hold the batter up off the pan when I flipped them over.
Well, the batter turned completely blue/purple, but they baked up fairly well. They tasted wonderful with the added ghee-roasted pecans, butter and maple syrup on them. We had grilled ham and pineapple, too, on the plate. Very tasty.
I’ve been wanting to make blueberry pancakes as well as blueberry muffins, and I just bought a big bag of frozen organic blueberries at Costco. Those pancakes really look good.

Well, just be prepared for a world of blue! The taste was really good, so we didn’t mind the color.

I make a protein shake after I work out at the gym – besides the milk and protein powder, I blend in about 1/2 or more cup of frozen blueberries. At first the color was a little off-putting, but now I think it’s beautiful!

I don’t know why not, but I’ve never tried it. Maybe need extra leavening.
