Solid Juice

solid juice.jblog

This array of goodness makes three hearty cups of pure gold, delicious juice. The carrot “fluff” that is left in the juicer is great added to our cooked cereal. Cancer medicines can cause one’s system to balk. So to counteract balk, we have bulk!

You remind me that I need to buy carrots. I hope I can make it to the farmers’ mkt on this coming Saturday. I have to say I like the fruits & veggies in their original state, although I do add blueberries to my protein shakes. The carrots and celery look so good and crunchy, and that’s how I would eat them. If I live long enough to lose my teeth I will be glad to have my food juiced!

We do both. This juice is soooo delicious. We use it as a dessert at lunchtime. The juicer is almost thirty years old, and had been packed away for the last – OMG – SIXTEEN years. We used it a lot when we lived in California, but had forgotten how delicious and nourishing this juice is. I hope this juicer never dies, because I don’t think the current ones can hold a candle to it.

What a wonderful combination of ingredients for juice. I’m going to make myself some too. I love the addition of celery…great idea!

Who could resist checking out a title like *Solid Juice*?

If it tastes as good as the lovely picture, it’s got to be a winner! 🙂

I just love juicing. That’s certainly healthy looking. I haven’t made myself a concoction in a while.

You can use the ‘bulk’ to make carrot cake or muffins. I used to juice a lot, but for last few years I’ve been using my Vita-Mix. It pulverizes everything so I can keep the bulk along with the juice.

Can I assume this is what you use, 8 carrots, 3 celery, one whole medium onion? Beautiful picture by the way. I have a vita mix too and LOVE it. But it doesn’t juice per say. You end up with a thick shakey sort of thing. Thin with water but no residue. What sort of juicer do you have that has lasted 30 years. Excellent recommendation even with 16 years of waiting. I know few things that last even 15 years other than my kitchen aid mixer, vitamix and cuisinard food processor.

My BIL uses a Jack LaLane juicer everyday with all kinds of different ingredients. I will be visiting him in a few days and will enjoy that great juice.

We haul ours along in the Lazy Daze. Definitely worth the effort. It takes up a lot of room, but we aren’t fulltiming any more, so it found a place under the dinette seat.

I am continually amazed by the variety of your posts. I confess that I have had very little practice at juicing but I stop by our nearby Wholefoods juice bar. One of their concoctions lasts me the whole day. (well, almost the whole day….) 🙂
