The poached duck eggs and the other components are the same, but today I made waffles. Haven’t done that in a while, and they were really a nice treat. DH had his the more traditional way with butter, maple syrup, and cinnamon. I ate mine like toast with butter and Seville orange marmalade.
Now about those dishes . . .
Oh my. I was going to make waffles for dinner tonight. Now I wish I had.

I have one of those space consumer units that flips from one side to the other on a swivel. I keep it put away in a cabinet in the utility room, so I seldom think of it. But it makes great waffles. I use the same recipe as for the pancakes, and DH said they were MUCH better than the mix I had used a couple of years ago when we first got the waffle iron.
Have you ever had chicken and waffles? I guess that is a specialty in some restaurants. Sounds peculiar to me, but I guess the waffles are just like any sort of bread that goes with the chicken.
You can make waffles for breakfast tomorrow – or dinner tomorrow !!! ;->
