An unexpected rainy day brought smiles to all of the plants here. This time of year there is a perfusion of roses everywhere one glances. A walk around the complex brings one “ooooh” “aaaaahhhh” after another at the gloriousness of what Mother Nature has provided us for eye candy these days.
As is evident, I can’t walk by our tree without having my iPhone start to wriggle around in my pocket – begging to be allowed to capture these portraits.
She has a row of princesses to complement her beauty, which I will show you tomorrow.
Guajus!

It’s all about feeling “smiley”. When I took the picture, I captioned it “Smiling Rose” because that’s exactly how it looked to me. The rain made her feel good, and the drops are her smile!

Hi Rita !!!!! We were just talking about you the other day – wondering how you are getting along!!! Big news – we now have city garbage and recycling pick up on Tuesdays and Thursdays! The excitement never slows down!!! When are you coming to visit???

We usually get most of our rain between Fourth of July and Labor Day, but this year we’ve had some surprise rainy days during the winter and spring. They are always welcome!

Geez. . .hate to rain (pun!) on your parade. . .that wiggling in you pocket? You left your phone on vibrate! That said, nice rose!

Possibly, but “vibrate” is for an incoming call, and “happy wiggle” is when it senses a snap worthy subject in view! Two different things – there is giggling involved with the latter! ;->

As you will see in the next post, the tree is covered in these beauties, as are all the other plants and trees around here. But this one was just begging to have her portrait taken. It was right at eye level, so easy to see. The raindrops were a real bonus. The white and deep purple iris are making their appearances, but are so light that they move like energetic toddlers in the slightest breeze. Very hard to get them to hold still!

Spring brings a lot of beauty, here, too. I’m waiting for your photos. I know how hard it is to photograph with a breeze, we have a lot of air here always. Still a bit cool here.

It will be up soon. I have the photo – just need to process and post it. It isn’t a special photo, but it shows the juxtapositioning of the two rose trees and some of the iris that are between them. There are more iris plants to the left of the pink rose tree that are out of the picture. It is a glorious strip of beauty at this time of year.

Just saw the photo. Wonderful. I love roses and iris and wish iris would grow so sumptuous in our garden, too. Regards Mitza
