Yellow Cheddar on Potato Soup


I had three quarts of super rich chicken broth, so soup came up as a possible lunch dish.   How about potato and onion soup, sez I.  Oh, yeah, sez he.  So this is what we had on Thursday.   The red stuff is smoked paprika.  I was torn between that and Berbere. 
We had some more of it today, and the bread accompaniment was a toasted, thinly-sliced sandwich bun that made a lovely crunch – like a giant crouton. 
Tomorrow I will show you my latest find for jazzing up foods with lemon and lime flavor.
