The Butterfly Girl and the Chinaberry Tree

We’ll call her Mel, for short! ;-> But, watch out! She’s well armed for butterfly pursuits.

What are all those little yellow balls on the ground? Those are the Chinaberries – from the Chinaberry Tree that you see the huge trunk of. This is a spectacular tree that lives with one of our neighbors. In the summer, it has the most glorious canopy of leaves, but as Fall approaches, the leaves make a bee line for the ground. I’m guessing that the yellow berries fall off all year long, much the same as any fruit would.

The cutie pie in the picture is NOT the neighbor, although said neighbor is a very dear person, and kindly allowed me to use this picture for your enjoyment. Thanks, Shirley!

Judy This picture turned out so cute!! I try not to get too many decorations around I think it takes away from the TREE and what flowers I try to grow! You are so right about this tree It is beautiful and the shade is wonderful and the birds love it BUT it is lots of work the hard berries do fall all year and when they get in with the gravel you can’t pick them up! It is either dropping berries or stick’s about a foot long and the leaves!!! I am not complaining as I need the exercise!!!! Thanks Judy!
