A cup of dried garbanzo beans produced this lot of hummus, leaving enough beans separately for about six salad servings.
Can’t beat that!

Hi Peggy! Glad to hear from you! ;-> I started out with just a cup of dried beans. They seem to absorb a lot of fluid as they soak overnight and cook the next day.
Chickpeas do tend to expand… 😉

Love making hummus. It’s so cheap to do at home! Do you use tahini paste?
Chickpeas also make a great taco filling. Just a can (using a little of the liquid) heated up with some taco seasoning and add toppings. Mmmmmm …..
Yes on the tahini paste. I get it in a jar from Vitacost. Roasted red peppers go in, too. Love using a tiny bit of garlic. Commercial stuff has too much.
