Frizzled Broccoli

Broccoli has a bad habit of cooling off so quickly that butter cannot melt on it.  So tonight I outfoxed it.  I had enough leftover broccoli for either a hearty Cream of Broccoli soup or as a side veggie with dinner tonight.  You can see which I chose.

I melted some butter in a small pan and added a tablespoon or two of water and the leftover broccoli.  I sprayed the top of the florets with distilled water and encouraged them to reheat gently, and they complied.

Earlier in the day, I had tossed a giant yam and eight small Yukon gold potatoes in the Crockpot, so dinner was a snap with a package of beef tips from the freezer, and some freshly sautéed mushrooms, onions, and yellow peppers on the side.

There was plenty of bone broth available for a nice gravy, so that was the appropriate vehicle for tonight’s dose of turmeric.   The tips heated gently in the gravy.  Meanwhile I deglazed the veggie pan, and added that essence to the meat and gravy.

No sign of jaundice from all the turmeric, but walking has again become possible without the stabbing pains.  Every day seems to bring improvement.  I am beyond thrilled!

The microwave is PNG for us as much as possible, but I find that an 8-inch pan on the stove produces a wondrously reheated dinner at home or on the road. This is especially useful in (ahem) a motorhome where propane is the readily-available fuel, rather than electricity.

I’m sure it tasted just as good as it looks! Glad to hear the tumeric is helping with pain. Amazing, isn’t it. Society would tell us to take this or that pill (which also gives us negative side effects) whereas there is almost something in nature that will work just as well if not better,
