Two Coyotes

There is a time of day in the late afternoon when our backyard turns a rosegold color. It is very pretty, but as seen here, it makes for peculiar-looking photos. These fine fellows seem to have shown up in front of the Critter Cam at just that time. My photoshop skills are not good enough to change the rosy glow for something more viewable, but thought you would enjoy seeing this pair of passersby.

I think you have a beautiful photo, and I’m glad you didn’t photoshop it. It has gotten to the point that you can’t tell if a photo has been altered or not, and I’d rather see what the lens records.

Sometimes just hitting Auto Levels or Auto Curves fixes it, but sometimes they are way off. Regardless, I kinda like it as is.

The only problem is that it looks like I did all the wrong things, when in fact that really is how it was! ;-> I’ll try the auto actions on a copy to see what happens. Thanks for the tip.

  3. Love the trickster coyotes, and love this photo. Thank you for sharing. 🌍

  4. Such a great photo. I didn’t know they come so close to humans.

They don’t come up that close if we are in the yard, but they do if we are just sitting on the deck – above their line of sight. They trot by just a few yards further out on a regular basis. They come up to the water pond mostly in the early morning hours or just before dusk. They are here in force during the night, of course. The night camera picks up all manner of critters that we seldom see in the day time, but those photos aren’t as compelling . . . although we MAY have captured (on the card) a bobcat. Not sure yet!!! ;->

An aunt of mine found a baby one that was blind and kicked out of den by the mom. My aunt raised it until someone let loose the shot and killed it.

Amazing photo !!! I love the wild life we have here. You are so good at taking their pictures!

I can’t take any credit for that photo. We have the Critter Cam set up to see the alley and take pictures when it senses body heat. I’m not sure it works all the time, but we see quite a few things at night. Twice we saw something that looked like a fairly large cat of some sort. Have you heard of any bobcat sightings around here lately?

So, um, do they have names?

Whilst sipping on a cup of Joe out on the patio, a lone coyote loped by, about 30′ away. To get his attention, I said “beep-beep”. His reaction, if I may, was a look that said “beep-beep my @#$! Needless to say, he was not impressed. sigh

Wow! In photoshop, try ‘auto tone’. That tool works magic and if I could only have one, that would be it.
