My son found this lovely fellow (?) trying to gain entrance into his home in Florida. This is apparently a baby, as they get to be as much as five feet long, I’m told.
The original of this photo shows the scales in great detail. I tried to put it up here, but was unsuccessful.
If you look carefully at his nose, you will see the remnants of his triceratops heritage.
New pet, or “catch and release”?

They are actually fairly common there – just not usually a house guest! My son is an stray animal collector from way back. I can’t tell you how many creatures we had over his growing up years. He’s still at it! He does a lot of dog rescue.

Triceratops? That thing looks like a dragon! It probably breaths fire and needs to be slain! He does not seem to scary in the picture though. He seems rather sedate.
