NOLA BOY makes dinner

The cutting ceremony has come and gone, and I am home from the hip replacement surgery.  Before going into the hospital, I pre-cooked a lot of food, and we have been taking advantage of our own in-home cafeteria-style food emporium.

Tonight NOLA BOY wanted to try his hand at putting together our evening meal, so I leaned on my trolley and barked orders into the kitchen.  Not being at all familiar with cooking in any form since he had heated up Bean with Bacon Campbell’s soup when he was in college fifty some years ago, this was a challenge.

But he rose to the occasion brilliantly, and in less than an hour, we had a nice dinner of cheeseburger, potato salad, cauliflower, and penne with mushrooms and gravy complete with tomato and onion slices.  Unfortunately the avocado hit the garbage can, as you can tell by the empty space next to the tomato slices.

Since I’m not moving around a lot right now, I am not requiring much food, so there was plenty left over from what you see here.  A lunch is pretty well assured for us to feast on tomorrow or the next day perhaps.

NB:  Glasses on leash around neck!  This has been a life changing event!
