Beautiful Simplicity

new and old rose-blog

I was walking by our rose tree just now, and these two brave little soldiers were beckoning to me to make their portrait.  The rest of the tree is covered with deadheads, but the other day the now-wilted rose came out in full display.  I thought it was a nice surprise.  Just now, though, I see that a sibling has arrived to complement the scene.  What a glorious picture for a beautiful day!  ;->

This photo was taken just now with my iPhone and not manipulated in any way – not even cropped!  And, yes, I would love to have taken out the little deadhead at the lower right, but . . . I wanted to portray the incredible blueness of the sky as a background for the bright green leaves and the wondrous reds, oranges, and yellows of the blooms just as it appears at this very moment.  It really made my heart sing, and I couldn’t wait to share it with anyone who happens to see it.  And, yes, our sky really is that blue!

When at first quick glance I thought the deadhead was a bee.

A takeaway lesson on life. The strongest and the most beautiful ones also have to end one day. And an inspiration that you can bloom even in adverse situations. Haha! That was my perception of your lovely portrait. Sorry for making it sound heavy 😉
