Raspberry Delight Du Jour

Here is today’s iteration of our ever-popular raspberry.   I put some raspberries in a tiny container, poured over some of the thick Balsamic vinegar, then added some chocolate shards.

It was the perfect little treat after a shared cheeseburger with all the trimmings on a jalapeño bagel!

Luscious! The jalapeño bagel sounds great too.

Raspberry season is pretty short so we eat a lot of them now. Unfortunately, they don’t freeze very well. They get very mushy upon thawing, but I can make a cooked compote that is almost like jam.

What a nice idea. I haven’t made the chocolate shards in a very long time, even though I have a whole bar of TJ’s in the freezer and 1/2 of one in the fridge. Just lazy I guess….or busy….take your pick 🙂

You had me at the title……..Raspberry anything. Although vinegar with raspberries and chocolate is something I’ve never had. Our raspberries are very sweet. I know for sure I would never even try a jalapeño bagel.

You might be surprised at how well the vinegar and the chocolate go with the raspberries. We’re not big jalapeno fans, but there are just a few thin shreds on the bagel – enough to make it interesting.
