The results of the bone marrow aspiration were ready for us when we visited the doctor yesterday, but the news was not particularly good. Not really terrible, either, but certainly not what we wanted to hear.
The good news is that the myeloma is knocked back down to nearly non-existent levels in his system. The bad news is that he will need to continue taking the debilitating medicine for the foreseeable future. A second stem cell transplant procedure could be done now, while the disease has quieted down, but that has its own risks – many more than for his first transplant.
We haven’t totally decided what course to take. Another visit with the transplant doctor is in order before any final decision is made, but we are leaning towards as little chemotherapy as possible, with the continuation of massive quantities of good food, plenty of rest, adequate exercise, and as stressless a life as possible.
One item will be in abundance – see above and below.

I’m so sorry to hear the bad part of the news, but the good part allows hope and a positive attitude. That plus healthy eating can work miracles. The pizza looks so good, and the olives just seem to make it perfect!

Red pepper, olives, broccoli, Mexican scallions, mozzarella cheese, Italian sausage, fresh tomato pieces, arrabbiata sauce, and provolone cheese shredded on top when finished.
