So satisfying! This was our dessert today at lunch time.
I added some more red peppers and mushrooms to the other half of the pizza from a few days ago, and we topped it off with these little treats.
Berries are plentiful at this time of year. The Central Valley of California is providing us with quite the bounty.
This treat consists of a small dollop of sour cream, an ounce or so of orange juice, cut up strawberries, some raspberries, a few shards of chocolate, and then covered in pecan pieces. I was halfway finished with it before I realized I could have added coconut! Or would that be just absolutely too piggy? ;->
The berries look very good. I have mine for breakfast and add sliced banana and chopped walnuts to them. I just thought this morning that I am going to buy a can of whipped cream to top it off. What a way to start the day!

Why not try the sour cream instead of the chemicals in the aerosol whipped cream?

I love sour cream on my tacos, baked potatos and such, but I want the fruit to satisfy my sweet tooth. I haven’t bought aerosol whipped cream for years , but the last time I did it was organic. I suppose something has to make the aerosol feature work. I’ll have to check out the ingredients the next time I shop.

Looks so fresh and tasty and easy to make – which makes me wonder why so many people still opt for the pre-made so called “healthy” yogurts with processed fruits and lots of sugar… A mystery! 🙂

I make our yogurt – half a gallon at a time. It is so much less expensive that way, and I know what is in it!

Good sour cream (Shamrock or Daisy) is really good without all of the chemicals.

Our strawberries and raspberries are coming from Watsonville on the Monterey Bay. Much better berry climate than the Central Valley. And close to our former home in Scotts Valley. I’m eating them multiple times a day. Yum!!

Berries–they’re gorgeous & oh, so yummy! We don’t eat dairy so we just put a little local honey on berries. Love the idea of putting a bit of chocolate in there…

Never fear, Judilyn, I’m making a comeback. I think this is the longest I’ve ever gone without posting! I’ve been running ragged working long days & nights that I barely have time to sleep when I’m home, let alone blog. I’ve been making quick comments here and there but that’s about it. I think my wk hrs will be back to normal next week so hopefully these long work days will come to an end.
